Minister-counsellor of congressional & intergovernmental affairs
Since 2016, Adam has served as the minister-counsellor of congressional & intergovernmental affairs at Canada’s embassy in Washington, D.C. Adam’s team manages Canada’s relations with Congress and sub-national associations in the United States. It also plays a coordinating role with Canadian parliamentarians and provincial governments. Prior to moving to Washington, Adam served for two years as the Department’s director of media relations and senior spokesperson for Foreign Affairs Minister Stéphane Dion. His last posting was at our embassy in Port-au-Prince, Haiti where he served as the deputy head of mission for three years, before and after the earthquake which devastated the country in 2010. Before he joined the Foreign Service, Adam worked for several years as a senior advisor to the Governor General, the Queen’s representative in Canada, managing the development and implementation of the domestic and international program.
